CASTL Welcomes Two Accomplished Industry Leaders to Its Board of Directors

Charlottetown, PE - May 13, 2025. The Canadian Alliance for Skills and Training in Life Sciences (CASTL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Paula Casalino, P.Eng., Vice President, Operations - Canada at IPS Integrated Project Services, and Sarah Gallagher, Vice President, People and Culture at adMare BioInnovations, to its Board of Directors.

“Paula and Sarah bring deep technical and people-leadership expertise that aligns perfectly with CASTL’s mandate to grow Canada’s life-sciences talent pipeline,” said Penny Walsh-McGuire, CASTL Chief Executive Officer. “Their leadership and governance experience will help guide the organization and build CASTL as Canada's Biomanufacturing Training Partner”
 

About Paula Casalino, P.Eng.

With more than 30 years of experience in the life sciences industry, leading large‑scale capital projects for vaccine, pharmaceutical and advanced therapy manufacturers, Paula has overseen multi‑million‑dollar facility builds and expansions across Canada and the United States. She founded IPS’s Canadian operations in 2017 and previously served as North American Head of Engineering for the world’s leading vaccine producer. Her expertise spans GMP facility design, construction, commissioning, qualification and validation, as well as team development and operational excellence. 

About Sarah Gallagher

Sarah is a seasoned human‑resources executive with over 20 years of leadership experience in organizational development, diversity and inclusion, talent management and employee well‑being. As Vice President, People and Culture, at adMare BioInnovations, she leads the people strategy that supports the growth of Canada’s life‑sciences innovation ecosystem. Prior roles at Vancouver Airport Authority and TELUS Communications saw her spearhead culture‑building initiatives and large‑scale change‑management programs.
