Employers need talent that can contribute quickly in regulated biomanufacturing settings. CASTL’s BioBridge pilot was designed to address that challenge by combining online learning, hands-on lab training, and work placement experience. The result was a stronger bridge between academic preparation and employer expectations.
Key outcomes
- 49% average reduction in onboarding time or internal training needs
- All surveyed employers said BioBridge students were better prepared in core skills than previous students without the training
- All surveyed employers were very satisfied with the program
- 81% of learners were satisfied overall with the program
Why it matters to employers
BioBridge helped students arrive with stronger exposure to GMP, documentation, cleanroom practices, and other core skills that employers often need to build after hire. The evaluation suggests that targeted training before placement can improve readiness before day one and make placements more productive for both employers and learners.
