Vancouver, BC, May 19, 2026 - The Canadian Alliance for Skills and Training in Life Sciences (CASTL) today announced that its Introduction to Quality Control course will be offered July 8 and 9, 2026, in Vancouver, BC, as the priority launch for CASTL's Quality Control training offering. The practical, hands-on course is designed to support organizations and professionals seeking stronger quality control capabilities in biomanufacturing and related regulated sectors. Delivered in CASTL's GMP-simulated Vancouver training facility by industry-informed instructors, the course gives learners and teams practical, hands-on experience in real-world QC workflows, helping build the applied skills needed to support quality-driven operations.
CASTL’s new quality control curriculum also includes HPLC Essentials: From Fundamentals to Method Validation, available on demand in Vancouver or Charlottetown, PEI. Together, the courses provide applied training in QC microbiology and QC analytics, helping participants understand how quality control supports product safety, consistency, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing decision-making.
"Quality control is essential to safe, consistent, and compliant biomanufacturing," explained Sven Ansorge, Director of Technical Training and Site Lead Montreal at CASTL. "Through this new training offering, CASTL is helping employers and professionals build the practical, job-ready skills needed in today's regulated laboratory and manufacturing environments."
Introduction to Quality Control is a two-day, on-site introductory course designed for entry-level QC staff, laboratory technicians, professionals transitioning into QC environments, and those seeking a practical foundation in QC workflows. Participants gain hands-on exposure to key QC microbiology and analytics techniques, including total organic carbon testing, qPCR, endotoxin testing, rapid bioburden testing, filtration-based methods, and HPLC fundamentals. The course is also relevant for professionals in adjacent regulated sectors, including food, wastewater treatment, precision fermentation, natural health products, and medical devices. The next delivery of this course is scheduled for July 8 and 9, 2026, in Vancouver, BC.
HPLC Essentials: From Fundamentals to Method Validation is a two-day, intermediate course for scientists, laboratory technicians, method developers, and QA/QC professionals seeking deeper hands-on competence in high-performance liquid chromatography. The course covers HPLC set-up, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, along with reversed-phase, size-exclusion, and ion-exchange chromatography approaches. Participants also explore method validation, data integrity, documentation practices, and regulatory inspection preparedness for biopharmaceutical manufacturing applications, including in-process analytics, release testing, and stability programs.
Both courses include a certificate of completion for participants who successfully complete a theoretical assessment. CASTL's Quality Control training can also be customized to meet specific organizational training requirements, with private delivery options available for employers.
The Vancouver Introduction to Quality Control course reflects CASTL's continued commitment to supporting Canada's biomanufacturing workforce by providing hands-on, industry-informed training aligned with the needs of employers, technical teams, and professionals working in regulated production environments.
