Marketing Manager

CASTL is hiring a Marketing Manager to lead high-impact campaigns that drive brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation across Canada’s biomanufacturing ecosystem. Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the successful candidate will shape and deliver content and multi-channel campaigns that resonate with biotech companies, academic partners, and government stakeholders—translating complex topics into compelling, accessible messaging. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of marketing, science, and workforce development.

Primary Responsibilities

Social Media

Lead and execute CASTL’s social media strategy across platforms (with a strong focus on LinkedIn) to drive brand awareness, community engagement, and lead generation. Responsibilities include:
· Creating and maintaining a dynamic content calendar aligned with key campaigns, announcements, and training opportunities.
· Writing, designing, and scheduling engaging social media content (graphics, copy, video, polls, stories, etc.) tailored to platform best practices and CASTL’s tone of voice.
· Monitoring and optimizing platform performance based on engagement data, audience trends, and strategic priorities.
· Responding to comments and messages in a timely, professional manner to nurture community relationships and uphold CASTL’s brand reputation.
· Collaborating with internal teams to surface relevant content (e.g., training sessions, funding announcements, employer success stories, events).
· Coordinating with partners to amplify co-branded content and extend reach.
· Managing paid social campaigns, including audience targeting, creative development, budget tracking, and performance reporting.
· Staying current with platform updates, algorithm changes, and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
· Producing monthly analytics reports that track KPIs such as impressions, reach, engagement, follower growth, and lead conversions, using insights to inform future strategies.

Email Marketing 

Develop, execute, and optimize CASTL’s email marketing strategy to drive engagement, nurture leads, and support training program enrollment. Responsibilities include:
Planning and managing segmented email campaigns for diverse audiences including employers, post-secondary institutions, prospective trainees, and government stakeholders.
Writing compelling subject lines, body copy, and calls to action that reflect CASTL’s brand voice and drive opens, clicks, and conversions.
Designing visually engaging email templates using the Yapla email marketing platform.
Creating automated email workflows (drip campaigns) for lead nurturing, onboarding, event promotion, and post-program follow-up.
Managing and maintaining segmented email lists and ensuring data hygiene across Yapla CRM databases.
Collaborating with internal teams to align email content with campaign calendars and training schedules.
Ensuring compliance with CASL, GDPR, and best practices for deliverability and accessibility.
Producing monthly performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.

Website 

Oversee CASTL’s website strategy, content, and performance to ensure it effectively communicates our value, supports lead generation, and delivers an engaging, accessible user experience. Responsibilities include:
Managing website updates, including uploading new content and program information.
Planning and implementing new pages to support marketing goals and optimize user journey.
Collaborating with internal teams to develop relevant, SEO-optimized content (e.g., course descriptions, success stories).
Partnering with external agencies to enhance UX/UI.
Ensuring all content aligns with CASTL’s brand guidelines.
Managing lead capture forms, newsletter signups, and other conversion points with CRM integration.
Conducting regular content audits and monitoring site performance using analytics tools.
Reporting on key metrics and providing data-informed recommendations.

Event Marketing

Plan, promote, and support CASTL’s event marketing initiatives to build visibility, generate leads, and strengthen stakeholder relationships. Responsibilities include:
Conceptualizing and planning CASTL-hosted and co-hosted events (e.g., webinars, facility tours) to align with organizational goals and audience needs.
Developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns with supporting materials (e.g., landing pages, social posts, emails, print collateral).
Managing timelines and content calendars to ensure timely, multi-channel promotion.
Coordinating with internal teams and external partners to maximize engagement and follow-up.
Maintaining and optimizing event registration platforms.
Segmenting audiences and tracking performance to evaluate ROI and guide strategy.
Supporting event logistics including participant communications, branded signage, templates, and onsite materials.
Gathering testimonials, photos, and video for content creation.
Managing post-event campaigns including surveys, recaps, and lead nurturing.
Analyzing event performance and compiling insights to improve future initiatives.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, with 2–4 years of experience in B2B, education, non-profit, or scientific sectors.
· Excellent writing and content development skills with a digital-first mindset.
· Demonstrated ability to design visually engaging digital assets and manage campaigns across social, email, and web platforms.
· Proficiency in tools such as Yapla, Zoho, Canva, Adobe Suite, Google Analytics, and ChatGPT.
· Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
· Bilingualism (French/English) and familiarity with life sciences or workforce development are assets.

Work Conditions

· Hybrid: 2–3 days per week on site at one of CASTL’s locations (Montreal, QC; Charlottetown, PEI, or Richmond, BC).
· Occasional travel required to support CASTL-hosted events and meetings.
· Flexibility to work extended hours, as needed.

Salary range: $70,000-80,000, based on experience.
